EDU: T & L 101 (5) American Sign Language 1
Speaking and listening skills in American Sign Language. Developed at an informal conversational level; instruction occurs primarily in ASL without speech.
Not open to students with credit for English 101. This course is available for EM credit. Credit counts toward Foreign Language Sequence for GEC's. GEC for lang course.
EDU: T & L 102 (5) American Sign Language 2
Continuation of ASL 1; expressive and receptive skills in American sign language are expanded. Deaf culture and deaf community are explored.
Prereq: 101 or English or EDU: T&L 101 or Em or Placement exam equivalence. Not open to students with credit for English 102. This course is available for EM credit. Credit counts toward Foreign Language Sequence for GEC's. GEC for lang course.

Continued building of receptive and expressive skills in ASL, exposure to topics related to deafness and education.

Attention to topics related to deafness and education; equity and diversity; historical and emerging perspection on the condition of deafness.

Introduction to the use of signs and finger spelling in American Sign Language.
