Tia Jones recognized as Outstanding Faculty, Spring 2009
Congratulations to Tia Jones who was nominated by one of her ASL 3 students as an outstanding faculty member who deserves to be recognized for her dedication to students and the university. On March 6, 2009 Tia was honored with this distinction at a banquet hosted by Order of Omega, The Interfraternity Council.
President's Salute to Undergraduate Academic Achievement,

The American Sign Language Program was invited by the Foreign Language Center to participate in the President's Salute to Undergraduate Academic Achievement 2008. ASL was one of only five languages featured at this special event that was attended by President Gee and Provost Alutto. ASL students Jenna Kinnear, Brock Leonti, and Katie Motz gave a signed performance of OSU's alma mater song Carmen Ohio. Watch the video of their studio recording on our home page.

Tia Jones, ASL Instructor and Assitant Coordinator, was nominated by her students for the Most Valuable Professor (MVP) award from the Student-Athlete Advisory Board. In 2007 Tia Jones was one of three instructors to receive the honor of "MVP". Congratulations, Tia!
ASL Program given Diversity Leadership Award

This $7,500 award created opportunities for the ASL Program to support projects and events that promote Deaf culture, awareness, and diversity.
