3 Senior Lecturers working closely with UCAT
Three ASL Program Senior Lecturers have been selected to join three of the University Center for the Advancement of Teaching (UCAT) learning communities for the academic year 2015-2016. These learning communities will create opportunities for the Senior Lecturers to engage in groups that will support each other while working on teaching related projects. These communities also aid in establishing collegial relationships across disciplines and reinforces a faculty culture that brings together the scholarship of teaching and research.
Tammy Eckard will be participating in the Mid-Career and Senior Faculty Learning Community. This community offers her year-long opportunity to focus on her teaching as part of a community of peers.
Lauren Sanders will be participating in the Course Design Learning Community. This learning community will provide her the opportunity to focus on making data driven improvements to a particular course as part of a community of peers. This program has been designed to provide opportunities for graduates of the UCAT Course Design Institute to continue learning about course design and effective teaching.
Kristin Saxon will be participating in the inaugural offering of the Lecturer Learning Community. The purpose of the Lecturer Learning Community is to provide a select cohort of lecturers and senior lecturers with an extended opportunity to converse with and support each other in the process of enhancing their teaching and for them to be able to make informed changes that increase the effectiveness of their teaching.
The ASL Program is proud to have Ms. Eckard, Ms. Sanders, and Ms. Saxon representing the program as they proceed on their journeys with learning communities this year.
