Heidi is an Assistant Professional Practice Professor and Language Director for The Ohio State University. Previously, she taught for Columbus State Community College for 15 years. During her time at CSCC Heidi taught over 10 courses and was the Lead Instructor for four courses. She was nominated for a Distinguished Teacher Award was a presenter at the FIX conference in June 2019.
Heidi received her National Interpreter Certification (NIC) in 2008 from Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). She has 33 years of experiencing interpreting with the Deaf Community. As an interpreter she worked as a Free Lance Interpreter, for Sorenson Communication as a Video Relay Interpreter and as an Educational Interpreter in three different Columbus school districts. In addition she worked as an Interpreter at The Ohio State University, Sinclair Community College, Madonna University and Columbus College of Art and Design.
When not teaching, Heidi can be found digging in her flowerbeds, landscaping her yard, making crafts, traveling or spending time with her family and her French Bulldog.
