The University Center for the Advancement of Teaching (UCAT) has begun a new grant program to support the numerous lecturers that OSU hires each year. The 2015-2016 academic year is the first year that UCAT has provided grant support for lecturer programming.

Three ASL Program Senior Lecturers have been selected to join three of the University Center for the Advancement of Teaching (UCAT) learning communities for the academic year 2015-2016.
"Deaf and Hearing Siblings in Conversation" is the first book to consider both deaf and hearing perspectives on the dynamics of adult sibling relationships. The authors conducted interviews with 22 adult siblings, using ASL and spoken English, to access their intimate thoughts.
Diane Birchbickler, Professor, Director of the Foreign Language Center, and Faculty Leader for the ASL Program, has earned the distinguished honor of the 2013 President and Provost's Award for Distinguished Faculty Service! We are very grateful for her years of support for ASL offerings at OSU.
Marla Berkowitz, Senior Lecturer in the OSU ASL Program, co-authored the Idea Starter for a 4-H project on American Sign Language. This will help increase the awareness of ASL among and inspire the more than 300,000 4-H members across the state of Ohio!
